Exciting New Low Energy Development

Le Gros Solicitors recently assisted Cwrt Canna Limited with the sale of land at Llangan in the Vale of Glamorgan to Newydd Housing Association and also Canna Developments Limited with the legal agreements involved in the design and build of thirteen ultra-low energy homes on the land. Backed by Welsh Government funding, Newydd have employed Canna Developments Limited to develop homes using the Beattie Passive Build System which will offer highly sustainable and affordable homes with much lower running costs. The energy efficient homes will be manufactured and assembled with the help of apprentices from a prison rehabilitation scheme run by HM Prison alongside contractors of Canna Developments Limited. Rhodri Crandon, Director of Cwrt Canna Limited and Canna Developments Limited commented “Le Gros Solicitors have provided us with timely and practical advice in a project which has involved a number of hurdles but will hopefully set a precedent for similar initiatives in the future.” We are really excited to be involved in a project that provides cost effective housing solutions to the community as well as new skills and knowledge for a workforce looking to re-enter the job market.
